ABOUT ME
MY BACKGROUND
I received my bachelor’s degree Magna Cum Laude from San Diego State University and my
masters and doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from the California School of
Professional Psychology. In addition to my private practice, I have worked or trained in a
number of diverse settings, including hospital outpatient clinics, inpatient hospitals,
residential settings, government/military facilities, HMO clinics, and non-profit community
agencies. I have worked with children, families, couples, and individuals, although my focus
in recent years has been primarily adult individuals and couples. My work has involved
helping people from a myriad of cultural, social, economic, and religious backgrounds.
In the past I have led and co-led therapy groups on issues such as anxiety, panic,
depression, anger management, stress management, divorce and separation, chronic pain,
and coping with cancer. I have also taught undergraduate college courses as an adjunct
faculty member at Argosy University.
Currently I also work for Kaiser Permanente, where I mainly provide outpatient individual and
group treatment. I am a member of the Best Practices Committee for the Treatment of
Depression, which establishes treatment guidelines for the treatment of depression in the
Northern California region.
I am an active member of the American Psychological Association and the Alameda County
Psychological Association
